Make Sure You Get The Termite Control That You Pay For

There are many unscrupulous so called ‘termite controllers’ who prey on homeowners who have this kind of knee jerk reaction, and will get rid of the pests, most of the time, as well as ripping you off in the process. Do not jump straight online and pick the first name that comes up, spend a bit of time ringing a few companies and find out exactly what they will do and get a final price in advance.
They should come out and inspect the property and calculate the square footage of the area to be treated. They use these measurements to work out the amount of insecticide they will use, and this is usually the largest figure on your bill. Labor comes next, they will work out how long it will take them to complete the job.
If they think they are being unrealistic or trying to stretch it out, the time to speak up is when you are given the estimate. It is no good just accepting it, hiring them, and then looking at it properly. The last items on the bill should be fuel and taxes. Your itemized invoice should include these 4 items, and have a fixed charge at the bottom.
Don’t be afraid to shop around and get a few estimates for termite control, quality tradesmen will expect this and encourage it. Remember when shopping for a termite controller that the same rule applies as with all other services ‘if it seems too good to be true, it usually is’.
